Cliché returns with songs paying homage to ‘80s metal and rock

Tone Tree Audio, LLC has worked closely with Hastings, Nebraska-based band Cliché over the years, producing albums including punk, indie and even electronic genres. Nothing prepared Tone Tree for the incredible retro sound the group brought to the studio in late 2020.

Cliché guitarist and lead vocalist Joe Matticks has performed for years with drummer Adam Waite, and the incredible synergy between them is tangible on their new material. Joining the writing duo is bassist Andrew Kalvelage and lead guitarist Luke Brunson.

With exultant, hair metal-inspired vocals, Matticks flirts and screams atop chugging ‘80s style electric guitars. Soaring solos and tight, pounding rhythms provide a powerful presence to complete the homage to ‘80s metal and rock.

Cliché is focused on releasing singles in 2021, and have released their first single ‘Lipstick’, recorded, mixed and mastered by Tone Tree Audio, via digital distribution platforms. Check out ‘Lipstick’ and follow Cliché on their Facebook page for upcoming releases and other news.
