Cole Ruybalid, a Nebraska film director and owner of Be Yourself Productions, worked with Tone Tree Audio, LLC in spring 2021 to produce original music for his film, ‘Paralyzed’, which premiered July 1 at the State Theater in Central City and in July and August on digital video platforms.
Ruybalid, originally from the Central City area, enlisted the help of area talent to produce the title track to the film. Kristen Schutte and Morgan Semerad, who both teach music education in Nebraska, composed the song ‘Surround Me’ and utilized Tone Tree Audio to record, mix and master the music. Schutte performed vocals and piano, and Semerad provided cello.
‘Surround Me’ features uplifting themes about faith, and uses minimal instrumentation with an epic, ever-building sound. Semerad’s cello is featured prominently in the song that balances well with Schutte’s vocal and piano performances.
‘Surround Me’ was released on digital distribution platforms in August accompanying the digital film release. Check out the song below on Spotify and YouTube:
