It has been a busy spring of 2016. Ranging from high school bands to a country rock group to a folk musician, Tone Tree Audio, LLC has been recording and mixing up a storm... and loving every minute of it!
Tone Tree Audio recorded the Kearney High School Bands, including wind ensemble, string ensemble and choir in April at KHS in Kearney. It is always a pleasure to work with young musicians and help foster music performance with students, and these projects are some of the most enjoyable all year.
In mid May Tone Tree recorded country rock group Prairie Fire in Kearney. The mobile recording for this five-piece band was energy-filled and exciting, with a very 'live' feel during the tracking. Acoustic guitars, drums and bass were laid down first on three original songs and three cover songs. The vocalists tracked together during the session, making a challenging-yet-realistic experience for the mix down the road. Finally, electric guitar licks were overdubbed, along with extra percussion.
Last but not least, local area musician, Art Hansen, recorded with Tone Tree in late May at A Noteworthy Studio in downtown Kearney. Hansen laid down a dozen original folk songs, gently strumming a beautiful Martin guitar and singing straight through each take. His tone and approach harkened back to the incredible folk era of music in the 1960s and 1970s, filled with lyrics of love, melancholy and often-humorous themes. Future overdubs with area musicians will occur in June, again at A Noteworthy Studio in Kearney.
