It was an early Sunday morning. Coffee and car-ride snacks kept eyelids from drooping, and excitement began to build as the Tone Tree Audio, LLC crew neared the outskirts of Omaha, Nebraska for what would be an incredible day of tracking the dynamic Omaha Street Percussion group.
Omaha Street Percussion was the recipient of the RAWards Best Music Category Award of 2013, and music category sponsor Tone Tree Audio provided them with a recording and production bundle valued at over $2,000. Today (Sun., Mar. 9, 2014) was the day to begin tracking, and was it ever a dynamite performance by our percussive friends.
Although it is a challenge to capture the excitement, interplay and overall group dynamics of a percussion group, Tone Tree Audio and Omaha Street Percussion had a blast collaborating on the process and tracked 10 songs filled with stools, tubs and various 'drum' instruments.
